In our efforts to raise the visibility of social
work in Vermont, NASW-VT is launching an effort to “put a face on” professional
social work in Vermont.
Our broad training and even broader areas of practice combine to make public
education about the importance and value of our work difficult to convey to the
public and to policymakers. We don’t fit into a sound bite.
Faces of Social Work in Vermont aims to acquaint both groups with the
rich variety of among social workers—who we are, what we do, and why it is
important. Our goal is to have at least one social worker for every legislative
district in our gallery. The Faces photos and profiles will be posted initially
on redesigned NASW-VT website,
www.naswvt.org, which will be unveiled
this fall.
All NASW-VT members are invited to submit a digital photo (preferably one that
shows you doing something you love to do, such as riding a horse or raking
leaves with your child) and complete a brief and fun profile.
to complete the profile. Attach it and your photo to
an email and send to the Chapter at
naswvt@naswvt.org. We will update the
Faces gallery twice monthly—but don’t wait. Be among the first to put a face on
social work in Vermont!
