Scholarship Information

Pay It Forward Through the NASW-VT Gilman Scholarship

Did you receive financial support while you were studying to become a professional social worker? Now you can “pay it forward” by making a tax-deductible contribution to the NASW-VT Gilman Scholarship.

Here’s how:

Write a check made payable to Vermont Scholarship Fund – NASW-VT Gilman Scholarship (the check must be made out this way to be tax-deductible)

Mail the check to NASW-VT at P.O. Box 1348, Montpelier, VT 05601-1348.

If you are making a contribution in honor of someone, please indicate the name of the person and reason you are honoring her/him.

OR if the tax deduction is not of interest, you may contribute directly here. If you contribute via PayPal, the payment is made to NASW-VT and therefore cannot be claimed as a tax deduction. To choose this option with PayPal, click here

The scholarship was established in 2002 to honor former Executive Director Michael Gilman. Each year the Chapter contributes $1000 to provide two $500 scholarships to individuals enrolled in accredited social work programs. The Gilman Scholarship is administered by the Vermont Scholarship Fund, a 501©(3) affiliate of the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC).

More information from the Vermont Scholarship Fund. For details about applying for the scholarship, deadlines, and forms, go to www.vsac.org.
